Harbinger’s next product will be hybrid emergency vehicles

Trucking startup Harbinger has partnered with 70-year-old emergency vehicle maker Frazer to build ambulances and mobile healthcare vehicles on Harbinger's hybrid electric platform. The company's flexible chassis, which can be shortened or lengthened and fitted with various powertrain options while maintaining 99.5% part commonality, already powers RVs, FedEx delivery vans, and box trucks, helping Harbinger raise over $300 million. Frazer's CEO cited lower total cost of ownership and increased uptime as key reasons for adopting the hybrid powertrain.
