The author set out to run a Tesla Model 3's car computer (MCU and autopilot unit) on a desk to participate in Tesla's bug bounty program, sourcing parts from crashed vehicles on eBay. Key components included a DC power supply, a salvaged touchscreen, and a rare Rosenberger display cable that proved nearly impossible to buy individually. Tesla's publicly available wiring references helped identify the correct connectors, and a similar BMW LVDS cable was found as a workaround.
