Prevalence of GenAI sexualized image usage by adolescents in the US

A nationally representative survey of 557 US adolescents (ages 13–17) found that 55.3% had created and 54.4% had received sexualized GenAI images, with 36.3% reporting non-consensual image creation of themselves. Male participants showed higher rates of both consensual and non-consensual creation and distribution. The authors call for policy interventions and educational measures to address the widespread normalization of this behavior.
