NASA issues draft request for moving space shuttle Discovery—or Orion capsule

NASA released a draft request for proposal to explore transporting the space shuttle Discovery from the Smithsonian to Houston, or alternatively a smaller space capsule, to comply with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The legislation requires NASA to relocate a human-flown spacecraft to a non-profit facility near a commercial crew program center. While Texas senators intended Discovery specifically for Space Center Houston, the law's vague wording leaves open the possibility of an alternate artifact.
