Mayor of Paris removed parking spaces, "drastically" reduced the number of cars

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, who is leaving office after 12 years, transformed the city by removing parking spaces, banning cars from streets and plazas, and building hundreds of miles of cycle lanes, drastically reducing automobile traffic. While tourists and some residents praise the walkability improvements, many Parisians complain about worsened gridlock and bus delays caused by the traffic restrictions.
