I Built a Free Accessibility Auditor That Actually Passes Its Own Audit

A CIS student built the MAS Accessibility Audit Toolkit, a free open-source Python/Tkinter desktop app that runs 14 WCAG 2.1 AA checks on any URL and produces structured, severity-grouped findings in under 60 seconds. Unlike WAVE, Lighthouse, or axe free tier, the tool itself is fully accessible—offering high-contrast/CVD-safe themes, dyslexia font presets, screen reader announcements, and non-color prefix cues. The author acknowledges automated tools catch only 30–40% of WCAG failures and positions the toolkit as a structured starting point, not a replacement for manual review.
