Google Engineers Launch "Sashiko" for Agentic AI Code Review of the Linux Kernel

Google engineers have open-sourced Sashiko, an agentic AI code review system for the Linux kernel, designed primarily for Gemini Pro 3.1 but compatible with other LLMs. In testing against 1,000 recent upstream kernel issues, Sashiko detected approximately 53% of bugs that were missed by human reviewers. Google is funding the infrastructure and token budget, while project hosting is being transferred to the Linux Foundation.
