Gemini is the best AI for deep research and the worst for actually using the output

Gemini 3.1 Pro's Deep Research capability is praised as state-of-the-art for synthesizing complex technical information with its 2M+ token context window and multi-step autonomous research. However, the output experience is severely lacking—there is no native export to PDF, Markdown, or other formats, and copy-pasting into tools like Google Docs, Notion, or Slack destroys formatting. The author built a free Chrome extension called Gemini Export Studio to address this gap and argues that AI output/export UX is the next major frontier.
