Show HN: Gemini can now natively embed video, so I built sub-second video search

SentrySearch is a tool that uses Google's Gemini Embedding model to natively embed dashcam video chunks into a 768-dimensional vector space alongside text queries, enabling sub-second semantic search over hours of footage. It splits videos into overlapping chunks, stores embeddings in a local ChromaDB database, and returns trimmed clips matching natural language queries without any transcription or frame captioning.
