A survey on LLMs for spreadsheet intelligence

This survey reviews how Large Language Models (LLMs) are being integrated into spreadsheet environments, shifting data analysis from manual formulas to natural language interaction. It formulates spreadsheet intelligence as a staged workflow, categorizes existing research into a taxonomy of tasks, and lists downstream tasks with corresponding benchmarks. The paper also discusses open challenges and future directions toward trustworthy LLM systems for spreadsheets.
