This case study reveals a counterintuitive UX principle: giving AI too much creative freedom can undermine user confidence. When design inconsistencies appear across slides, users interpret it as AI incompetence rather than variety. By constraining GPT to eight niche-specific presets instead of unlimited layout generation, AnySlide achieved better design coherence and user satisfaction—demonstrating that deliberate constraints often outperform maximum generative flexibility.
