FastMCP is the standard framework for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), automating schema generation, validation, transport negotiation, and authentication for tool and data access by agents. Originally incorporated into the official MCP Python SDK in 2024, the standalone project now sees a million daily downloads and powers 70% of MCP servers across all languages. It offers three pillars: Servers for exposing tools to LLMs, Apps for interactive UIs, and Clients for connecting to any MCP server.
