A team of four students from KL University spent 15 days at DEVTrails 2026 researching the problem of income loss for India's 2.8 crore gig workers due to weather disruptions, building GigWeatherWage—a parametric insurance product that automatically pays out via UPI when verifiable weather thresholds are crossed. They also developed a 5-signal AI fraud detection system to counter GPS spoofing syndicates, combining weather API verification, movement pattern analysis, device integrity checks, and historical behavior scoring.
