VitruvianOS – Desktop Linux Inspired by the BeOS

VitruvianOS is a free, open-source Linux-based desktop operating system inspired by BeOS and Haiku, emphasizing minimal latency, intuitive navigation, and out-of-the-box usability. It includes Nexus, a custom kernel subsystem that brings BeOS-style node monitoring and messaging to Linux, enabling Haiku application support with minimal API changes. The system ships with real-time kernel patches, supports XFS and SquashFS boot file systems, and plans to add file system indexing and live queries in future releases.
