From High-Fives to Altercations: Teaching AI to Detect Violence in Real-Time Video

As user-generated and live-streamed content proliferates, automated violence detection becomes critical infrastructure for content moderation and public safety. This project demonstrates that machine learning can effectively distinguish between violence and benign human interactions, enabling real-time automated systems for online platforms and surveillance agencies. The ability to train scalable models with AWS SageMaker while maintaining robustness across diverse environments signals a new era in AI-assisted content safety accessible to organizations of all sizes.
