US Takes Down Botnets Used in Record-Breaking Cyberattacks

The US Department of Justice, in collaboration with the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, dismantled four major botnets—Aisuru, Kimwolf, JackSkid, and Mossad—which collectively controlled over 3 million compromised devices. Aisuru and Kimwolf together launched a record-breaking DDoS attack last November reaching 31.4 terabits per second against a Cloudflare customer, nearly triple the previous record. No arrests were immediately announced, but US authorities are collaborating with Canadian and German counterparts to target the operators.
