Ubisoft's Death by a Thousand Cuts

Ubisoft is shutting down game development at Red Storm Entertainment, cutting 105 jobs as part of its ongoing €500 million cost-reduction plan running through March 2028. The studio, famous for creating the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon series, will remain open only to support the Snowdrop Engine and other services. Ubisoft has been making continuous cuts across multiple global studios, reducing its headcount by 1,500 in 2025 alone, leading to employee strikes and widespread internal anxiety.
