The Day I Discovered Type Design

The author recounts how, in March 1976 as a 20-year-old commercial art student at North Hennepin Community College, a lettering class project and the discovery of U&lc magazine published by ITC ignited a lifelong passion for type design. Inspired by ITC's call for typeface submissions and the potential financial rewards, the author began designing an original typeface called Uncial Sans.
