Rethinking SOLID: From Design Principles to Domain Diagnostics

This article challenges the traditional view of SOLID as independent design principles, suggesting instead that they serve as indicators of incomplete domain knowledge. By applying the Independent Variation Principle (IVP) to map change drivers, developers can achieve optimal modularity automatically, shifting software design from a set of rules to an epistemic process of understanding causal domain forces.
