Sears Exposed AI Chatbot Phone Calls and Text Chats to Anyone on the Web

Security researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered three publicly exposed Sears databases containing 3.7 million chat logs and 1.4 million audio files from the company's AI chatbot 'Samantha,' including customers' names, phone numbers, and home addresses. The databases, linked to Sears Home Services and its AI platform 'kAIros,' were secured after disclosure to parent company Transformco, but it remains unclear how long they were exposed or if others accessed them.
