Scraping Social Media with Gemini for sentiment analysis

Textpot is a hackathon project that uses a real user's Chrome browser (via a Chrome Extension and CDP) combined with Gemini's computer-use capabilities to scrape social media comment sections for sentiment analysis. The architecture splits browser control (extension) from AI decision-making (Cloud Run backend), bypassing traditional anti-bot defenses by leveraging the user's authenticated, trusted browser session. An earlier headless-browser approach failed due to bot detection and authentication issues.
