Samsung bets this island startup can tame the grid with software and batteries

Dublin-based startup Grid Beyond raised a €12 million equity round led by Samsung Ventures to expand its virtual power plant platform that stitches together solar, batteries, wind, and industrial loads across six countries. The company already manages around 1 GW of renewable generation and several GW of demand-side assets, addressing peak power shortages that increasingly affect data center developers and hyperscalers.
