Ryugu asteroid samples contain all DNA and RNA building blocks

Scientists discovered all five nucleobases essential for DNA and RNA in samples collected from asteroid Ryugu by Japan's Hayabusa-2 spacecraft, following similar findings from asteroid Bennu. The results reinforce the hypothesis that carbonaceous asteroids may have delivered prebiotic organic materials to early Earth, though researchers emphasize this does not mean life originated in space.
