Labor No Longer Sells the Product—It Sells the Data

The economics of labor are fundamentally shifting. Rather than selling finished products or services, workers increasingly generate training data—a reusable asset that can be applied across multiple robot systems without compensating the worker again. This changes who profits from automation: value moves upstream to data owners and model developers, not to the workers generating that data.
