The author built Energy Volatility, an API that aggregates four government and maritime data sources—AIS tanker positions, Baltic Dry Index freight rates, port authority congestion data, and geopolitical intelligence—into a single REST endpoint for real-time energy supply risk assessment. The system maintains persistent WebSocket connections to AIS feeds and uses an AI model via OpenRouter to generate composite risk scores and supply gap predictions.
