Meta rolls out new AI content enforcement systems while reducing reliance on third-party vendors

Meta is deploying advanced AI systems to handle content enforcement tasks such as detecting terrorism, child exploitation, drugs, fraud, and scams, while reducing its reliance on third-party vendors. Early tests show the AI can detect twice as much violating content as human review teams with a 60% lower error rate, and can identify around 5,000 scam attempts per day. The move coincides with Meta's broader loosening of content moderation rules and the launch of a 24/7 Meta AI support assistant on Facebook and Instagram.
