JavaScript's date parser is out of control and needs to be stopped

JavaScript's Date constructor has an overly permissive legacy parser that extracts date-like numbers from arbitrary strings, treating inputs like "Route 66" as year 1966 and "Beverly Hills, 90210" as year 90210. The author discovered this when addresses and business names were displayed as dates in their app, caused by using the Date constructor as a fallback parser/validator.
