Iranians Don’t Have a Missile Alert System, So Volunteers Built Their Own Warning Map

With no government emergency alert system and amid Iran's longest internet shutdown, a volunteer group called Holistic Resilience built Mahsa Alert—a lightweight mapping platform with Android/iOS apps designed for offline use. The tool sends push notifications based on Israeli force warnings, maps confirmed strike locations via OSINT verification, and accepts crowd-sourced reports, with updates as small as 60–100 kilobytes to work under severe connectivity restrictions.
