Building Private Photo Intelligence: Offline Semantic Search with Local LLMs

This project demonstrates that local LLMs can deliver production-grade semantic photo analysis without uploading sensitive family data to cloud servers. By combining Ollama with LLaVA:7b and embedding models, developers can now build privacy-first AI applications that achieve meaningful results with minimal hardware. As local AI matures, the tradeoff between convenience and data sovereignty shifts decisively toward keeping AI workloads on-device.
