In-hub motors make this humble Hyundai a monster on ice

Slovenian startup Elaphe, which originally supplied in-wheel motors for the failed Lordstown Endurance truck, is continuing to develop its in-hub motor technology by retrofitting vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with four independent 188 hp in-wheel motors. Tested on ice, the Elaphe-equipped Ioniq 5 demonstrated dramatically improved control and performance compared to the stock version, showcasing the potential of in-wheel motor systems for mainstream EVs.
