I stopped storing chats and built a stateful study agent instead !!

A developer built a single-page study app combining Pomodoro timer, flashcards, quizzes, and a chatbot, but found the chatbot was stateless and forgot everything between messages. Instead of storing chat logs, they shifted to storing small structured state signals (weak topics, activity, tasks) inferred from user behavior, which dramatically improved response personalization without changing the model.
