I Built an MCP Server That Lets Designers Change CSS From a Notion Table

The author built flintwork-token-sync, an MCP server that turns Notion databases into a design token editor with a three-tier architecture (global → semantic → component), enabling designers to edit 253 tokens directly in Notion. An AI agent validates token references, generates JSON files, runs the CSS build pipeline, and writes sync status back to Notion — catching errors like invalid references before they reach code. Five MCP tools including a diff tool let designers preview changes, solving the broken design-token handoff problem between design and development.
