From Oral Tradition to Search Engine: Digitizing Andean Medicinal Plant Knowledge

This project addresses a critical gap in global health: the disconnect between centuries of Andean medicinal knowledge and modern evidence-based validation. By integrating ethnobotanical databases, clinical trial data, and traditional healer knowledge into a single, searchable platform, it enables pharmacists, patients, and researchers to access verified information about plant-drug interactions and traditional uses. This approach not only preserves indigenous wisdom but also accelerates the discovery of new therapeutic compounds and promotes safer, culturally-informed healthcare practices.
