I Built a Tool That Lets You Contribute to Open Source in Any Language

The author built IssueLingo, a tool that translates GitHub issue threads into 38+ languages while preserving code blocks, variable names, and terminal commands intact. Built during the Lingo.dev Hackathon using Next.js, the Lingo.dev SDK's localizeObject() method, GitHub REST API, and Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, it also lets users compose replies in their native language with live verification before finalizing in English. The key architectural choice was Lingo.dev's ability to translate entire JavaScript objects in a single API call while maintaining structure, which shaped the app's design.
