Humanscale has launched the Diffrient Lounge, a high-end lounge chair designed by late industrial designer Niels Diffrient, featuring an integrated pivoting side table, USB-C ports, and motorized recline adjustment. Starting at $8,995 and going up to roughly $15K with add-ons, the chair marks Humanscale's shift from commercial office furniture into the residential market, driven by the post-pandemic work-from-home trend. The design draws inspiration from Diffrient's 1984 Jefferson chair and continues his philosophy of simple, self-adjusting ergonomics that eliminates complex manual controls.
