Automating RAG Memory Quality: How ChromaDB Transformed Our Testing Pipeline

RAG-based dialogue systems face a critical challenge in memory retrieval—manual testing cannot catch the semantic boundary conditions that cause production failures. This article presents an automated semantic evaluation pipeline using ChromaDB and LangChain that quadrupled bug discovery, replacing subjective developer judgment with quantitative metrics and comprehensive test coverage across diverse user intents and phrasings.
