Crunchyroll confirms data breach after hacker claims unauthorized access

Crunchyroll confirmed a data breach involving customer service ticket data after a hacker claimed to have accessed millions of user records through a compromised third-party vendor. The attacker allegedly exploited an Okta SSO account of a support agent at Telus Digital, gaining access to Crunchyroll's Zendesk support system and downloading approximately 8 million support ticket records. Crunchyroll says it is investigating with cybersecurity experts and has found no evidence of ongoing unauthorized access.
