Channel Surfer lets you watch YouTube like it’s old-school cable TV

London-based developer Steven Irby launched Channel Surfer, a web app that recreates the cable TV channel-surfing experience using YouTube videos. The app offers 40 hand-picked, topic-focused channels with a retro TV guide interface where users join videos mid-stream and can see upcoming programming. Built as a static Next.js site using PartyKit and hosted on Cloudflare, it attracted over 10,000 views on its first day.
