Beyond Detection: The Judgment Problem in AI Memory Systems

While detecting failures in AI systems is largely mechanical and rule-based, determining what those failures actually mean and which lessons deserve permanent memory is fundamentally a judgment problem. As systems scale, the necessary consolidation of memories creates information loss and risks conflating events with interpretations, potentially allowing machines to inherit human superstitions without human wisdom.
