curl is removing RTMP protocol support due to zero test coverage in both curl and the upstream librtmp library, minimal user adoption (2.2% in the 2025 survey), and a stagnant librtmp project with no commits or releases in years. After a six-month notice period announced across release notes and videos, no one stepped up to maintain it.
