Arc expands into electric commercial and defense boats with $50M raise

Los Angeles startup Arc Boat Company raised $50M in Series C funding from Eclipse, a16z, Menlo Ventures and others to expand from consumer electric boats into commercial and defense markets. The company plans to supply electric propulsion systems to defense contractors and design commercial vessels with shipyard partners, following a Tesla-like strategy of proving technology in premium consumer products before scaling to broader markets.
