Apps Without the Web Stack

Forge 4D is a desktop application platform that eliminates the traditional web stack (HTML/JS/browser) by using SML for UI definition and SMS scripts for logic, rendered via the Godot engine. The project evolved from early experiments with Java Swing and XML-based UIs, and became feasible through AI-assisted code generation tools like Claude and Codex. It emphasizes native performance, 2D/3D rendering, and sandboxed scripting for security, particularly targeting restrictive platforms like iOS.
