Accessibility Verification Becomes Critical: From AI Suggestions to Compliance Evidence

AI coding assistants like Claude Code can generate accessible code, but they cannot provide the tracking, verification, and audit trails required for legal compliance. With the European Accessibility Act enforcing accessibility standards since June 2025 and imposing penalties up to €3 million or 4% of annual revenue, development teams must shift from 'should we care about accessibility?' to 'can we prove it?'—requiring a layered approach combining static analysis, runtime scanning, and human review rather than relying on AI instructions alone.
