A New Game Turns the H-1B Visa System Into a Surreal Simulation

Game studio Reality Reload, founded by Chinese immigrant Allison Yang, is developing a mobile visual novel called H1B.Life that simulates the US work visa application process. The game features life decisions and random world events affecting immigration outcomes, aiming to educate Americans unfamiliar with the immigration system. Over half of the nine-person development team have personal experience with the US visa process, and the project debuted at GDC with strong support.
